Jeff BeckOne of the great guitarists of the modern musical age, Jeff Beck will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 4, 2009, in Cleveland, Ohio. This will be the second time around for Beck, having been previously honored alongside guitar gods Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page for his work with The Yardbirds.

Prior to the induction ceremony, Beck will release his latest live performance on DVD and Blu-Ray, Jeff Beck Performing This Week . . . Live at Ronnie Scott’s [Eagle Rock] on March 31. Filmed over the course of several gigs at the famed Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in 2007, Performing This Week . . . features material spanning Beck’s genre-jumping career, from rock to jazz to blues, with boogie and Beatles, to boot. His band includes Tal Wilkenfeld (bass), Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), and Jason Rebello (keyboards). Joss Stone, Imogen Heap, and Eric Clapton also made special appearances, complementing Beck’s wild guitar work with their diverse vocal approaches.

On the heels of the DVD release and his HoF Induction, Beck will play 12 special gigs across the country, starting April 6 in Scranton, PA, and wrapping up April 23, in Oakland, CA. For more on Jeff Beck, visit his web site here.
