Abbey Road studiosIt's not exactly "Beatles For Sale," but an important part of the band's legacy may soon be available. According to the Financial Times, the iconic London recording studio Abbey Road has been put on the market by EMI music group. EMI purchased the property at 3 Abbey Road for £100,000 in 1929 and transformed it into the world's first custom-built recording studios.

The studio was immortalized when the Beatles, who had recorded 90 percent of their material at Abbey Road between 1962 and 1969, named their penultimate album after it. Among other high-profile recordings that have taken place at Abbey Road studios are Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, and film scores for Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
