Official Creed Tab Now Available Online

Posted by Michael Mueller on September 26, 2013 at 10:18 AM

In the late ''90s and early '00s, there was no rock band bigger than Creed. Fueled by crushing riffs and melodic acumen of guitarist Mark Tremonti along with singer Scott Stapp's impassioned vocals and the tight, effective rhythm section of bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips, the Florida-based post-grunge act sold over 35 million albums in just six years. And now, the official guitar tab for the songs on those first three albums—My Own Prison, Human Clay, and Weathered—is available here at GuitarInstructor.com. Songs include "My Own Prison," "Torn," "One," "What's This Life For," "Higher," "What If," "With Arms Wide Open," "Faceless Man," and "My Sacrifice."

The band will play a hometown show in Orlando, FL, on October 4 and then head to Europe for a month of dates beginning October 16. Check out the first single, "Addicted to Pain," below.

Metallica Plays Yankee Stadium for Mariano Rivera Retirement Ceremony

Posted by Michael Mueller on September 23, 2013 at 9:24 AM

When New York Yankees relief pitcher Mariano Rivera announced 2013 would be his final season, teams all across baseball took their turns honoring the greatest closer in baseball history. On Sunday, September 22, the New York Yankees got their turn, and so they brought Metallica to Yankee Stadium to play "Enter Sandman"—their timeless 1991 monster hit and the song to which Rivera has jogged to the mound since 1999—to kick off the ceremony in style. Following the performance, the band presented Rivera with a custom-painted 4x12 cab featuring Mo's no. 42, and an ESP guitar.

"What surprised me the most," said Rivera at a press conference about his 50-minute retirement ceremony, "[was] seeing Metallica there playing the song."

Baseball wasn't the only thing on Metallica's schedule during this visit. The band brought heavy metal to Harlem's historical Apollo Theater on Saturday night, and they also spent time promoting their full-length concert movie, Metallica: Through the Never, which hits theaters September 27.

Joe Bonamassa to Release 4DVD "Tour De Force - Live in London"

Posted by Michael Mueller on September 6, 2013 at 9:45 AM

Joe Bonamassa guitar tabOn October 29, guitarist Joe Bonamassa (guitar tab and video lessons) will release Tour De Force - Live in London, a 4DVD set that captures four live shows the guitarist recorded at four iconic London venues: Royal Albert Hall, Hammersmith Apollo, Shepherd's Bush Empire, and the Borderline. Each show has a different set list—over 60 titles, including some never before played live. As a treat to guitar aficionados, Bonamassa brought out some rather special "guests" at these shows: Rory Gallagher's 1961 Fender Strat, Bernie Marsden's 1959 Gibson Les Paul, and the hallowed Peter Green/Gary Moore 1959 Les Paul.

Tour De Force - Live in London will be available in four separate discs as well as in a special collector's edition box set containing all four discs (DVD or Blu-Ray) along with a hardcover phonebook, packaged as a miniature vintage Marshall amp.
