Sludge-prog metallers Mastodon recently released their 6th album, Once More 'Round the Sun, which debuted at #6 on the Billboard album charts. A continuation of the more polished sound heard on the band's 2011 release, The Hunter, Once More 'Round the Sun finds the Atlanta-based rockers still pounding out mammoth riffs wrapped in mathy yet accessible hard rock.

We've just posted the officially licensed guitar tab for all 11 tracks from the new album, including "High Road," "The Motherload," and the title track.

Freddie King Guitar Tab Collection Now Available

Posted by Michael Mueller on September 22, 2014 at 1:55 PM

Freddie King, sometimes referred to as the "Texas Cannonball" for his impressive stature and matching monstrous chops, certainly earned his reputation as a King of the blues. His instrumental tracks "Hide Away" and "The Stumble" have become blues standards, as have his hits "I'm Tore Down" and "Going Down," covered famously by Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck, respectively.

We've just posted brand-new tab for 10 of his greatest tracks, including "San-Ho-Zay," "Lonesome Whistle Blues," and "See See Baby." Study these tabs and listen closely to the tracks to glean insight into King's scorching blues phrasing. For those who really want to pursue his unique tone, King spanked his Gibson ES-335 using a plastic thumbpick and a metal finger pick on his index finger to produce a sharp and aggressive attack that resulted in his own unique tone and voice on the guitar.
