In 2005, progressive metal guitarist and producer Misha Mansoor brought together a group of like-minded musicians to create a recording project called Periphery. The band jelled so well that they decided to make a full-time go of it and in 2010 released their critically acclaimed self-titled debut. Five years and a couple of lineup changes later, the group finds itself at the forefront of the "djent" movement—a subgenre of progressive metal that utilizes downtuned and extended-range instruments in combination with technically dazzling chops and writing to create chest-pounding metal in the tradition of bands like Meshuggah.

Accurately tabbing this style isn't exactly a cakewalk, but our crack team of transcribers and editors put their picks to the odd-time grindstone and produced note-for-note guitar tab for 10 of the band's best tracks, culled from their four album releases to date.
