Michael Anthony Joins John 5 on Van Halen Covers at Whiskey-a-Go-Go

During his show this past Saturday night (April 6) at L.A.'s storied Whiskey-a-Go-Go, guitarist John 5 invited special guests Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour), Fred Coury (Cinderella), and Michael Anthony (Van Halen, Chickenfoot) to the stage to cover some classic Van Halen tracks.

After a little tease of "Hot For Teacher" and "House of Pain" from John 5 while Coury set up behind the kit, Anthony launched the group into "Runnin' With the Devil," followed by "Take Your Whiskey Home" and "You Really Got Me."

Eric Clapton's iconic 1964 Gibson ES-335 is the tone machine behind the legendary live recording of "Cross Road Blues (Crossroads)" by Cream, on March 10, 1968, at Winterland in San Francisco, California. Recently, Guitar Center filmed up-and-coming Texas guitarist Emily Wolfe playing the treasured guitar, along with commentary from Gibson CMO Cesar Gueikian.
