Biography

A true blues legend, David "Honeyboy" Edwards was the last of the great Mississippi Delta blues guitarists at the time of his death, in August 2011. Born in 1915 in Shaw, Mississippi, Honeyboy played with nearly every major blues legend, from Robert Johnson, Charley Patton, and Sonny Boy Williamson to Howlin' Wolf, Lightnin' Hopkins, Muddy Waters and countless others. In 1942, Alan Lomax recorded 15 sides of music with Honeyboy in Clarksdale, Mississippi, for the Library of Congress, and following that session, Honeyboy went on to write and record several timeless blues hits, including "Long Tall Woman Blues," "Gamblin' Man," and "Just Like Jesse James."
