After his stunning 1983 solo debut Texas Flood, guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan showed no signs of a sophomore slump when he unleashed his 1984 follow-up, Couldn't Stand the Weather. A mix of half originals and half covers, the album showcased a diverse palette of styles, ranging from the high-energy Texas blues instrumental "Scuttle Buttin'" to the quiet but stinging slow blues "Tin Pan Alley" to the jazzy swing number "Stang's Swang."

Couched between them all was his cover of the W.C. Clark shuffle "Cold Shot," which, boosted by a humorous MTV video, has become a SRV classic. Easy enough for advanced beginners yet with enough nuance to keep intermediate and advanced intermediate players on their toes, the song has also become a favorite among guitar players.

In this new G-Plus song lesson, instructor Doug Boduch offers over 30 minutes of step-by-step video instruction, along with the guitar tab and play-along audio track.
