New ELVIS PRESLEY Box Set
This January, Elvis Presley (guitar tab) would have been 75 years old. To commemorate the King's birthday, Legacy Recordings will release a four-disc 100-song box set titled Elvis 75: Good Rockin' Tonight on December 8.
According to Billboard.com, the career-spanning set opens with "My Happiness," the acetate recording Presley paid nearly four dollars to make at the Memphis Recording Service in July 1953, and ends with "A Little Less Conversation (JXL Radio Remix Edit)," the electronica-fueled 2002 track that hit No. 1 in more than 20 countries and was included in that year's Elvis: 30 #1 Hits.
Elvis 75 also includes an 80-page booklet that contains rare photos and a new essay by journalist Billy Altman.
A single-disc edition of "Elvis 75" will be released Jan. 5, three days before what would have been Presley's 75th birthday.

Hear the New Single From the DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT
One of metal's most intriguing and ominous figures, Devin Townsend, is set to return with an ambitious new endeavor under the DTP (Devin Townsend Project) moniker. The new mind-blowing disasterpiece takes the man's genius to unprecedented levels as he embarked on a massive four-part album series, which kicked off with Ki and is followed up with the Addicted album that is set for a Nov. 17th release throughout North America via Inside Out Music.
"Musically, Addicted is along the lines of the big, wall of sound hard rock/heavy metal of Ocean Machine and Accelerated Evolution—even Physicist at points," says Townsend. "It is a very direct and 'to the point' album with an emphasis on groove and the chorus. In the past, lots of my records end up taking a kind of Pink Floyd-ish route, (between song meandering, etc.) Addicted is really simple: 11 rocking songs with no bullshit.
"The vocal duties on this record are handled by myself and Anneke van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering)," Townsend continues. "I wanted to have male and female vocals kind of 'tell the story' so to speak. It's an honor to work with her and she has a lovely, lovely energy. I absolutely love this record and it affects me in a way that I wasn't prepared for. It's a fully rocking album of optimism."
The album's title track can be heard now at Noisecreep.com, so head over now to check it out along with the first U.S. interview with Townsend concerning this release.

GEORGE LYNCH Talks Dokken Reunion
Blabbermouth.net reports that in a recent interview with Kevin "Taz" Conklin of "The Big Dumb Radio Show," guitarist George Lynch (guitar video lessons) was asked about a possible Lynch Mob tour in support of the band's comeback studio album Smoke And Mirrors.
"I'm talking a little preemptively here, but one of the things on the table is a potential Dokken-Lynch Mob tour—kind of like that WWF spectacle where you come out with all that history and get people talking, and that's always good," Lynch said.
Regarding whether he would make an appearance on stage with his former Dokken bandmates if Lynch Mob were to tour with Dokken, Lynch said, "Absolutely. That's be part of the deal. I'd come out at the end and we'd have a little reunion, and it'd be awesome. Me and Don [Dokken] could come out, make out for a while, and then we'd dive into a couple of old Dokken songs for old times' sake."
Audio samples of all 13 songs that appear on Smoke And Mirrors are available for download at HeavyHarmonies.com. The CD was released in Europe on September 18 and comes out tomorrow (10/13) in the U.S. via Frontiers Records.
Lynch Mob's current lineup includes Lynch, singer Oni Logan, bassist Marco Mendoza, and drummer Scot Coogan.
