Biography
Mexican bassist Abe Laboriel was originally a classically trained guitarist, before switching to bass while studying at the Berklee College of Music. Since that time, he has played on over 4,000 recordings, working with a diverse range of artists including Larry Carlton, Paul Simon, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Madonna, Dolly Parton, Lisa Loeb, Andy Summers, Herbie Hancock, Elton John, Quincy Jones, and Michael Jackson, among many others. In 2005, Laboriel was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Music by Berklee.
