Biography

As a founding member of sixties folk rock icons The Byrds, Roger McGuinn created one of the most influential guitar styles in history. Applying some of his banjo roll techniques to a Rickenbacker 12-string, the "jingle-jangle" sound was born, fueling the band's greatest hits, including their famous cover of Bob Dylan's "Tambourine Man" and their bible verse-based "Turn, Turn, Turn." Several solo albums, a consistent performing schedule (including a two-year stint touring with Bob Dylan), and a dedication to spreading interest in folk music with his Folk Den website (www.folkden.com) have kept him busy since.
