Biography
Both an alumnus and a former instructor at Berklee College of Music, bassist Ed Friedland has carved out a career as a performer, instructor, author, and journalist. As a performer, Friedland has played with Steve Allen, Robben Ford, Randy Johnston, John Medeski, Eric Burdon & the Animals, the Drifters, and Mighty Sam McClain, among many others. As a journalist, he has written for Bass Player, Bass Guitar, and Guitar World magazines, among others, and as an author and educator, Friedland has written several books for Hal Leonard Corporation, including the esteemed Hal Leonard Bass Guitar Method.
